Mobile Regas Services

Your air con can stop working or not perform as well for a variety of reasons.  Like any electrical and mechanical system, you need an inspection to determine the issue. You could have a natural reduction in the amount of gas held in the system over extended time, a leak, or one of the air con components is not working.

The good news is we come to you at work or home and this is what we do:

  • Hose replacement
  • Compressor, condenser, filter dryer, Tx valve, evaporator replacement
  • Recover and recharge refrigerant to vehicle specifications
  • Pressure system to test for leaks
  • Add uv dye for future leak detection
  • Test complete system operation including vent temperature
  • Check cabin filter

Other services we provide

Replacing Cabin Filter

Did you know that not replacing you cabin filter as part of your vehicle servicing affects the efficiency of your air con by a significant percentage and as it acts as an air purifier it can give those bad odors in the cabin if not changed regularly.  We will check this for you if it hasn’t been changed in the last year and replace if necessary.

Inspection & Diagnostic

In cases where regas is not applicable or appropriate as there are other issues within the AC system we will give you a written quote for the repair.

Air Con Leak Detection

Leaks in your air con system can be inevitable due to the number of imperfect joints, fittings, hoses, O-rings, seals and wear and tear of mechanical parts over time. Some leaks can be extremely minor and will take time to affect the operation of your air con system, while others will have immediate impact on your cooling efficiency.

It is important to identify leaks to avoid just regassing your system which causes damage to the environment and to your pocket in the long run. To detect leaks we use the following methods:

Pressure Test

This procedure is used to detect leaks within the system, either with electronic sniffer or a foam solution and is usually used for larger leaks.

UV Dye

If other methods do not show small leaks, UV dye can be added into the air con system to detect small refrigerant leaks. The dye will fluoresce under the light of a UV torch to highlight leak location.  UV Dye can also be added to any regas as an extra to assist in diagnosis of any future leaks.

Your Air Con System has many components which need to function correctly to give you cold air in the cabin.

Below is a brief description of key parts and what they do.

Evaporator

Your evaporator is under your dashboard and it evaporates refrigerant to a gas to remove the heat from the air to give cool air inside the cabin. They can leak requiring replacement.

Compressor

Your compressor is the heart of your air con system which compresses refrigerant gas before sending it to the condenser. It can fail for a number of reasons, but the most common faults are compressor clutch, compressor control valve, or internal failure of the compressor.

Condenser

Your condenser is in front of your radiator and removes the heat from your Air Con system this changes gas state from gas to liquid. It can become blocked with dirt affecting it’s efficiency or can leak requiring replacement.

TX Value

The purpose of the TX Valve is to control liquid / vapour flow in and out of your evaporator.

Filter Dryer

The filter dryer has two functions, firstly filtering contaminated gas and secondly removing moisture from the air con system. It is important to always replace the filter dryer whenever your air con system has been opened to ensure no moisture has accumulated in the system.
